MID MAY UPDATE

Yes I am a bit late. I have been very busy with writing, meetings and annual medical appointments.  Now for the updates.

As those who follow me know, I did a free download for two of my children's e-books.  It didn't go as well as I had hoped.  All the children's books will be in Kindle Unlimited for the next 90 days and them I am going to remove the e-book copies but the paperbacks will still be available for purchase.  I think more children prefer to have the book, paperback, in hand to read and carry around so that is were I will go with from now on.

As for my adult novels, they will still be available both in digital and paperback.  The digital ones will be available to purchase from several retailers so it will be available for whatever device or app you are using.

I have made it to Chapter 10 of book 2 for the Windy Haven Trilogy and it is progressing a bit slow as I plot out the scenes for the next ten chapters.  I also did several online webinars to help me find a quicker way to put everything together.

One of them was how to use Scrivener and it was very helpful. I had tried it once before and got stuck trying to move my chapters from the cork board to a total document.  To my surprise it was always there just in another section.  I will give it another try and see if it will be useful.

I am still on track for November 2019 for Book 2 Willow:  Family Betrayal (Windy Haven Trilogy Book 2). I am hoping to reach 25,000 to 30,000 words by the end of the month and will come back then to let you know if that was achieved

I have put a pause on my next Children's Book for a few months because I need to do a bit more research and find a foe for my only character Buzby.  I have now renamed the title: Buzby Friend and Foe.  The foe will be named at a future date and I will let you know what the new deadline to publish this book will be.

END OF APRIL 2019

Another month has passed us by and tomorrow will be the fifth month of this year.  Where has all the time gone?  I have gotten back on track with book 2 of the Windy Haven Trilogy and the writing is going well.  I have been able to write at least 1,000 words per day and will be escalating that to reach between 3,000 and 5,000 each day.  Will let you know how that goes next time.

My First Page Friday went really well and I am pleased with the coverage it got.  I have been working on the back cover blurb for Willow: Family Betrayal (Windy Haven Trilogy Book 2) and my children's book Buzby: Friend or Foe with a lot of comments from my writer's group members both pro and con.  I will make the final decision in a few weeks on both and add them to the covers.

Buzby:  Friend or Foe has been going a bit slow as I have been doing a lot of research and now have several pages of information to work from.  Current completed cover below.  This is scheduled for release in early June so guess I had better get to work on it.

BELOW IS BUZBY

I am also working on a Novella that I will be able to give away at some point for those who sign up for my newsletter and will have more information on those two things near the end of summer.

Once I have a title for it you will be the first to know, but a short teaser about it.  It is a story about a young man who becomes a recluse and how he deals with it.  Once he finds the reasons why his life will change a great deal.

That's all for now.  I will be back around the 15th of May with an update as to whether or not I got to the daily word count I am striving for.  Until then, hope that Spring will join us at some point soon.

WINTERS RETURN

It's the last day of March and Mother Nature decided to drop a few feet of snow on parts of Canada.  Must be a good day to write.

I have been working diligently on a major revision of Book 2 in my Windy Have Trilogy.  As I got to Chapter 5, I realized that my main character was going in the wrong direction. I had to do a lot of research to turn her North instead of North West.  All is good now and she has a visual direction and a main goal to achieve.  Now she will have to overcome all the obstacles that will slow her down from time to time and delay her getting to the end goal.

The main character is Willow who moved over from book one and now must deal with her own demons and challenges without the help of her rescuer Sia from Book 1.

I started working on my children's book Buzby:  Friend or Foe.  I have the cover done and have focused on research regarding the species of bee Buzby belongs to. I have the book set up as to which pages have text and those that will have a picture on them.  As this book will be like my last few, it will be a lot more words and less pictures for beginning readers age 7 to 9.

My goal is for Buzby: Friend or Foe to be ready to publish for June 2019 and Willow: Family Betrayal (Windy Haven Trilogy Book 2) to be ready to publish for November 2019.  I have a new Facebook Ad running in hopes of directing people from around the world to this site in order to make it easier for them to purchase my books.  All you do is click on the book's picture and it will take you to Amazon. My e-books for Josephine: Out of the Darkness Into the Light and Sia: Screams in the Night (Windy Haven Trilogy Book 1) are also available from other retailers like Apple, Nook and Kobo so you can check them out there.

Now time to get back to work.  I will return on April 15th to tell you about something special that will be happening on April 26th so stay tuned.  Don't forget, you can put your e-mail address in the place on the right side, half way down, that says: "Add your E-mail to list." That way you won't miss any of my post.  Each one will be sent to your e-mail inbox automatically.

ALL GOING ON SCHEDULE

Well I am well into Book 2 of the Windy Haven Trilogy and that is great progress.  I have worked only a short while on the children's book but that one will come together quickly.

I wasn't able to post before now because of a wrist injury preventing me from typing.  I was able to work on my manuscript by using dictation so that didn't get slowed down.

Hope you have received all my previous updates on both the paperback and digital versions of my new book and that you have been able to have a look.

I will make this one short but just wanted everyone to know that I am still hard at work.  I will come back at the end of the month to give you a better update on both projects.

With us changing to Eastern Daylight Savings time on the weekend, my hope is that spring will come along with it.
